This project is a GPS receiver board that plugs into the abundant RS232 serial port, intended primarily for vintage computers and laptops, for which I plan to write a MS-DOS compatible GPS
visualiser program. Some classic Windows programs for GPS exist but there is very little for DOS (nothing I find usable).
There is nothing preventing this GPS receiver from working with modern computers, however, and it could also be used as a GPS time reference for an NTP server.
In the following images, the PCB can be seen connected to an IBM L40SX.
